Free Skip Counting Worksheets

This is the index for skip counting worksheets. Each link goes to a page with its own generator, its own explanation and its own answer key, so you can go straight to the skip counting worksheets you actually need. This section currently holds 9 worksheet pages, each with its own generator preset to one skill.

All levels (7 sheets)

1st grade (1 sheets)

2nd grade (1 sheets)

How to choose a worksheet

Short daily practice beats long weekly sessions for every skill listed here. Ten focused minutes, marked immediately, is the routine the whole of this section is designed around.

Choose the skill your child is working on right now rather than the one their grade number suggests. A child who is shaky on the times tables gains more from a fact sheet than from the long division that depends on it, whatever the skip counting worksheets their grade suggests.

Because the numbers are randomised, a class set can be printed by pressing the button between copies. Every child gets the same skill and different problems, which makes copying pointless and marking uniform.

If a sheet turns out too easy or too hard, move one link along rather than adding more problems. The difficulty steps between these skip counting worksheets are deliberately small, which is the point of having so many of them.

A routine that works

When a skill is secure, use a mixed review sheet to check that it survives being taken out of context. That is where most apparent mastery turns out to be partial.

Keep the sheets in date order and look at the times, not only the scores. Falling time at a steady score is what fluency actually looks like, and it is invisible if you only record marks.

Write the time taken and the score at the top of each sheet. Two weeks of those two numbers is a better progress report than any single test, and it costs five seconds a day.

Frequently asked questions

Do the worksheets come with answers?
Every one of them. The answer key is generated together with the problems and prints on its own page, so a child can work first and mark afterwards.
Are these skip counting worksheets really free?
Yes. Every sheet in this section is free to generate and free to print, with no account, no email address and no download step. The pages carry advertising; that is the whole business model.
Can I print the same worksheet twice?
You can print as many skip counting worksheets as you like, but they will not be identical: the numbers are randomised each time, so the same skill comes back with different problems.
Can teachers use these with a whole class?
Yes, and the randomised numbers make it practical: print, press the button, print again, and every child has the same skill with different problems.

Print a sheet of skip counting worksheets, run it for 10 minutes, mark it together, and come back tomorrow for a different set of numbers on the same skill.
